The Basilica of la Sagrada Familia, consecrated by the Pope in 2011, is the most important building and one with the most symbolic and religious value representing the city of Barcelona. It is a Bible in stone that best shows the design and construction by Antoni Gaudí.

The church has always been expiatory, it is still under construction and it could be completed during the first third of the 21st Century. The facade of the Nativity and the crypt were declared World Heritage Sites by the UNESCO in 2005.

In Barcelona, La Pedrera, also known as “la casa Milà” is an impressive building located on the street known as Paseo de Gracia. It is a building of flats with original shapes, designed by architect Gaudí using a modernism style. Its shapes and exterior appearance remind you of a pile of stones with undulating forms. Because of this fact, it has had many interpretations: the waves of the sea, the shawl of the Virgin, a sacred mountain… come and see what you think.

We recommend that you discover the house and learn about the brilliant ideas of Gaudí from the interior of this impressive building. You must not miss the upper terrace where you will be fascinated by the shapes and textures as well as the impressive views from the rooftop.

La Casa Batlló, is another of the impressive buildings in Barcelona, designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, also located on the Paseo de Gracia (street).

It is another building boasting the characteristics of Gaudí modernism, built for Josep Batlló, a wealthy aristocrat, and the house where the Batlló family lived on the two lower floors.

Undoubtedly, the facade is the main curiosity of the Casa Battló, due to its designs and shapes which are all characteristics of modernism by Gaudí. The shapes remind you of skulls and cross-bones inspired by marine life. Have you noticed that all the windows are different?

We recommend a visit to the interior of the Casa, to discover the details, both large and small details that Gaudí incorporated: for example, the size of the windows. Each window is different so that the light uniformly penetrates into each room. Audio guides are available to provide you information about each one of the rooms.

The Ramblas is a long boulevard that runs from its northernmost point: in the Plaza Catalunya (square) to its southernmost point in the Puerto de Barcelona (Port). It crossed two well-known neighbourhoods in the city of Barcelona: El Barrio Gótico (The Gothic quarter) and El Raval.

Park Güell was built on the high part of Barcelona, under the responsibility of Eusebu Güell, who asked Gaudí to design an exclusive park for the aristocracy of Barcelona.

The entrance to Park Güell is guarded by the Gaudí Dragon, a statue adorned with beautiful coloured ceramics that give it the touch of magic and fantasy, a characteristic of the architect's sculptures.

The whole park is made up of structures, columns, walls and fascinating buildings in irregular shapes and with natural effects. A visit to Park Güell is something you cannot miss; we invite you to spend a whole morning or afternoon walking the lanes of the park and enjoying the wonderful view of Barcelona from the terrace located at the highest point, decorated with coloured ceramics that you will fall in love with.

Park Güell also contains a small house where Antoni Gaudí lived. The house has been transformed into a museum and contains interesting furniture designed by Gaudí, a small exhibit that will not leave you indifferent.

Metro: Lesseps (L3), Vallcarca (L3). When you come out of the metro you will see signs.

A visit to the Barcelona Zoo is a one that you cannot miss if you have come to Barcelona with children. They will love watching the more than 325 species that live in the Barcelona Zoo and enjoy the dolphin exhibition.
